Karnataka’s climate is kinder than most, but each season has real implications for photography and planning. Here’s an honest, season-by-season guide to choosing your date.
Winter (November – February) — the peak season
Weather: cool, dry, pleasant. Light: clear and soft. Verdict: the sweet spot.
This is why most Karnataka weddings happen in these months. Comfortable temperatures make outdoor functions and long celebrations easy on everyone, and the clear, soft light is a gift for photography — flattering portraits, easy golden hours and no weather anxiety. It aligns with many auspicious muhurthams too.

Summer (March – May) — warm but workable
Weather: hot, especially midday. Light: harsh at noon, lovely at the edges. Verdict: fine with planning.
Bangalore’s summers are milder than much of India, but midday can be hot and the overhead sun is unflattering. Summer weddings work well when functions are scheduled for mornings and evenings, with portraits at golden hour rather than noon, and shaded or indoor spaces for guest comfort.
Photography note: an experienced team plans around the light — early ceremonies, late portraits, and indoor coverage during the harsh hours.
Monsoon (June – September) — dramatic and green
Weather: unpredictable rain. Light: soft, moody, atmospheric. Verdict: beautiful, but plan for it.
Here’s the honest truth: monsoon weddings can be stunning on camera — lush greenery, dramatic skies, soft diffused light and romantic, moody frames you simply can’t get in dry season. Venues and photographers are also more available and often more affordable.

Post-monsoon (October) — the underrated window
Weather: fresh, greenery still lush, rain easing. Light: clean and soft. Verdict: a lovely, quieter alternative.
October often gets the best of both worlds — the landscape is still green from the rains, the weather is settling, and it’s just ahead of the peak-season rush. A genuinely underrated time for a Karnataka wedding.
